Sensus awarded innocent drinks grant for second consecutive year

July 23, 2025

We’re proud to announce that Sensus has once again been selected as a recipient of the Farmer Innovation Fund by innocent drinks. This marks the second year in a row that our commitment to sustainable agriculture has been recognized through this prestigious grant program.

The Farmer Innovation Fund, launched by innocent drinks, supports pioneering projects that promote regenerative agricultural practices and help secure the long-term supply of fruit and vegetables. With a total grant pot of up to £1 million, the fund backs initiatives that address key challenges such as soil health, water efficiency, biodiversity, crop resilience, and carbon reduction.

Our winning project continues the development of seed-embedding technology for no-till chicory cultivation, in cooperation with S&dB whose innovative technology is being tested as part of this initiative. This seed-embedding technology received recognition in Europe earlier this year as part of the EIT Food mission: 'Net Zero Food System'. This innovative approach has the potential to increase yields by 20-30% while significantly improving soil health and enhancing carbon sequestration. By reducing soil disturbance, this method supports a more resilient and climate-smart farming system. This project is only possible through close collaboration with our dedicated growers, whose expertise and commitment are instrumental to this success.

We are honored to be part of a select group of suppliers who are leading the way in sustainable agriculture. We thank innocent drinks for their continued trust and support.
