People look at food labels for a variety of reasons. One of the reasons is the increasing added sugar awareness in the US. But whatever the reason, many consumers would like to know how to use this information more effectively and easily.
Since March 2020 the Nutrition Facts label on packaged foods and drinks in the US has been updated to make it easier for consumers to make food choices that contribute to lifelong healthy eating habits. Some of the changes include updated serving sizes, larger and bolder calories, updated Daily Values and nutrient listings like added sugars.
Now it is obliged to mention the amount of added sugar on the label of packages, Sensus investigated the awareness of added sugars on the updated label.
